SANDAKAN: The Duchess of Kent Hospital (HDOK) is facing a critical shortage of O-type blood, with existing supplies already being used for patients in need.

In a statement on its official Facebook page on Tuesday, the HDOK Blood Bank urged members of the public with O-type blood to come forward and donate.

The Blood Bank, located on Level 4, is open from 8am to 9pm, Monday to Friday, to accommodate more donors.

The hospital said donations are crucial to meet the urgent needs of patients requiring this blood type.
