Dunlop is accelerating its growth strategy in Malaysia with an expanded dealer network, a broader tyre portfolio and continued investment in products designed for the country’s evolving automotive market.

The move reflects the brand’s long-term commitment to Malaysia as demand continues to grow for high-quality tyres across passenger vehicles, SUVs and electric vehicles (EVs). It also reinforces Dunlop’s ambition to make premium tyre technology more accessible to Malaysian motorists.

Dealer Network Grows by More Than 30%

Since May 2026, Dunlop has increased its nationwide dealer network by more than 30%, expanding from around 150 outlets to over 200 locations across Malaysia.

The expansion strengthens the company’s retail presence while making its products more accessible through tyre dealers and automotive service centres nationwide.

According to Dunlop, the growing network reflects increasing confidence among dealers and aftermarket partners as the brand continues to build its presence in Malaysia.

Building on a Long History in Malaysia

Dunlop has been part of Malaysia’s automotive industry for decades.

The company became the first tyre manufacturer to establish local production in Malaysia in 1963, helping shape the country’s tyre manufacturing sector. Today, the brand operates under Toyotsu Binter Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., supported by the engineering expertise of Sumitomo Rubber Industries.

The company says its focus remains on delivering premium performance while offering motorists better value across a wider range of vehicle types.

Expanding Products for Every Driver

As Malaysia’s replacement tyre market evolves, Dunlop is broadening its product lineup to meet changing customer needs.

Its current portfolio includes the Blue Response TG for everyday passenger cars, the SP Sport Maxx 060+ for drivers seeking enhanced performance and handling, and the Grandtrek R/T01 for SUVs and pickup trucks.

The company is also preparing to introduce the e.Sport Maxx, a tyre developed specifically to meet the performance requirements of electric vehicles as EV adoption continues to grow in Malaysia.

Supporting Both Consumers and Automakers

Beyond the replacement market, Dunlop continues supplying tyres to several original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners.

Its tyres are fitted on selected models from leading automotive brands including Toyota, Lexus, Isuzu, Mazda and Leapmotor, reflecting continued confidence in the brand’s engineering and manufacturing quality.

The company said maintaining consistent product quality, reliable supply chains and responsive customer support remains a key priority as it strengthens relationships with vehicle manufacturers.

Investing in Future Mobility

According to Sumitomo Rubber Asia (Tyre) Managing Director Takehiko Asai, innovation continues to shape Dunlop’s long-term strategy.

The company is investing in next-generation tyre technologies that improve energy efficiency, enhance wet-weather grip, reduce rolling resistance and lower cabin noise. It is also exploring intelligent tyre technologies designed to support future connected and electrified mobility.

These developments aim to ensure Dunlop remains relevant as vehicle technologies continue to evolve across internal combustion, hybrid and electric vehicle segments.

Malaysia Remains a Key Growth Market

Malaysia has been identified as one of Dunlop’s strategic growth markets in the region.

Moving forward, the company plans to continue expanding its dealer network, introducing products tailored for Malaysian road conditions and strengthening partnerships throughout the automotive aftermarket.

By combining wider accessibility with continued product innovation, Dunlop aims to strengthen its position in Malaysia’s increasingly competitive tyre industry while supporting the changing needs of local motorists.
