VICE President Sara Duterte praised the Muslim community’s discipline and devotion during the month of Ramadan as it celebrates Eid al-Fitr on Saturday.
In a video message on Friday, Duterte said the entire month of Ramadan is a celebration of a journey “defined by prayer, sacrifice and deep spiritual reflection.”
”The discipline and devotion you have shown throughout your fast are testaments to the strength of your faith and your commitment to the values of compassion and charity,” she said.
She also praised Filipinos for their resilience and hard work, which remain a “source of pride” for the country.
”May the spirit of Eid bring you comfort and remind you that your contributions to your families and our country are deeply valued,” she said.
Amid the joy and thanksgiving, Duterte also offered a prayer for peace across the globe, urging people to use the lessons of Ramadan as inspiration to “work together toward a global community that is inclusive, safe and anchored in the pursuit of the common good.”
”May your homes be filled with peace, and may your hearts be filled with the light of Allah’s blessings. Eid Mubarak!” Duterte said.
