MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte's net satisfaction rating improved to +31 in the second quarter of 2026, with a majority of Filipinos expressing satisfaction with her performance, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
The survey, conducted from June 20 to 29, found that 58 percent of respondents were satisfied with Duterte's performance, while 26 percent were dissatisfied, resulting in a +31 net satisfaction rating, which SWS classified as "good."
The latest rating is two points higher than her +29 net satisfaction score recorded in March 2026.
SWS said the improvement was driven mainly by gains in Balance Luzon, along with a slight increase in Mindanao, while her rating in Metro Manila declined slightly and remained unchanged in the Visayas.
Mindanao remained Duterte's strongest base of support, where she posted an excellent +84 net satisfaction rating. She also recorded +36 in the Visayas, +10 in Balance Luzon, and +3 in Metro Manila.
Compared with the previous quarter, Dutete's rating increased by five points in Balance Luzon and by two points in Mindanao, while Metro Manila registered a slight decline.
The survey also showed Duterte continued to receive stronger support in rural areas, where she maintained a +36 net satisfaction rating. In urban areas, her score improved from +23 to +27.
By gender, Duterte's rating among women rose from +28 in March to +33 in June, moving from the "moderate" to the "good" category. Her rating among men remained virtually unchanged at +29.
Support also remained strongest among younger Filipinos, with net satisfaction ratings of +41 among respondents aged 18 to 24, +43 among those aged 25 to 34, and +44 among those aged 35 to 44.
Her rating among those aged 45 to 54 slipped from +25 to +20, remaining in the "moderate" category. Among respondents aged 55 and above, her rating improved from -4 to +4, moving from negative to neutral.
Across education levels, Duterte registered gains among college graduates, where her net satisfaction rating climbed from -3 to +12. Her ratings also improved among respondents with elementary education and those with some senior high school education, although her score among junior high school graduates declined from +36 to +29.
The SWS survey also measured public satisfaction with other top government officials.
Newly elected Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian, who was included in the survey for the first time after assuming the Senate leadership in June, received a +18 net satisfaction rating. About 45 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with his performance, while 27 percent were dissatisfied. His highest rating was recorded in the Visayas at +30, followed by Balance Luzon (+21), Metro Manila (+15), and Mindanao (+5).
Meanwhile, Speaker Faustino Dy III posted a +8 net satisfaction rating, up four points from the previous quarter and classified by SWS as neutral.
Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo received a +10 net satisfaction rating, slightly higher than his +9 rating in the first quarter of the year.
SWS reported that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. posted a -7 net satisfaction rating after 38 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with his performance and 45 percent were dissatisfied. While an improvement from his -15 rating in March, it remained in negative territory.
The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 Filipino adults nationwide. It has a ±3 percentage point margin of error for national estimates and ±6 percentage points for each major geographic area.
