Everton's home fans are the primary reason the club may stay up this season.
That is the view of manager Sean Dyche, who praised the home supporters at Goodison Park.
The Toffees were beaten in the Premier League at home yet again at the weekend, losing for the fifth successive time in front of their supporters.
Asked why they cannot perform at home, Dyche told reporters: There shouldn't be [any psychological issue] because the crowd has been brilliant.
The crowd is there, they are waiting. The freedom that comes in front of a crowd can get tight but not when the crowd is right behind you like here.
We have just had two great results on the road.
It travels quickly here, the noise, because so many go on the road, so many went down to Brentford - I have always had respect for away fans, all fans, but particularly away fans, it costs a lot of money, loads go to Villa, two very good performances, with the right style, quality, grit and determination to see it through, and there isn't anything to factor in other than just going and playing.
"I think the crowd is right with us. I have been in football all of my life and it can get tricky with crowds but they have been brilliant here, they are desperate for us to change the story. It is very frustrating because the team are there - it is like 'go on then change the story, be the person who makes the difference, don't wait for someone else to do it, take it on yourself'.
And we sort of nearly do. We did it last week at Brentford, we did it in the week, and then [against Luton] just that weird thing where everyone was looking for someone else to change it.
It is an odd thing that we have been trying to break since I have been at the club and we are going to keep trying, keep working with them, keep demanding more and keep working with the details, keep taking it on and keep reminding them that the club is ready to change the story but it is only us that can do it."
