Dyson PencilWash launched in Malaysia: Slim 2.2kg wet cleaner that’s just 380g inhand

Dyson has introduced the PencilWash in Malaysia, its slimmest and lightest wet floor cleaner to date. Designed for hard floor cleaning, the PencilWash features a pencil-thin 38mm handle, weighs 2.2kg and is built to tackle wet spills, stains and everyday floor cleaning while maintaining a compact form factor.

The Dyson PencilWash measures 1,158mm tall, and yet it’s just 380g in-hand during use, making it easier to manoeuvre around furniture and tight spaces. The cleaner can also lie flat at an angle of up to 170 degrees, allowing it to reach under furniture with as little as 15cm of clearance.

Unlike conventional wet-and-dry floor cleaners that rely on filters, the PencilWash uses a filter-free design. According to Dyson, this eliminates the need to clean dirty filters and reduces the risk of odour build-up, blockages and performance degradation over time.

For cleaning, the PencilWash uses a high-density microfibre roller featuring 64,000 filaments per cm². The roller spins continuously to remove both wet and dry debris, while dirty water and debris are extracted from the roller during each rotation.

On top of that, there’s also an eight-point hydration system that supplies fresh water directly to the roller during operation. This ensures the cleaner uses fresh water throughout the cleaning process rather than recirculating dirty water.

Users can choose between two hydration modes to adjust the amount of water delivered to the floor, depending on the surface type or level of dirt. Dyson says this allows for more controlled cleaning while maintaining a quick-drying finish.

The PencilWash is equipped with a 300mL clean water tank and a 360mL dirty water tank. A full tank of clean water is rated to cover up to 100m² of flooring, which Dyson says is roughly equivalent to the floor area of an average three-bedroom condominium unit. Power meanwhile comes from a rechargeable battery that provides up to 30 minutes of runtime on a single charge. Charging the battery from empty takes approximately 3.5 hours.
