SUBANG JAYA — TLDC or Taylors Lakeside Dance Club recently hosted their signature event called DZONE Festival which started on the 21th October and is a week long series of “Battleground” style dance competitions which ended with a Halloween themed After Party on the 28th of October. The TLDC DZONE Team invested a lot of their time and funds into this, they had to book mall venues for their competitions and purchase some items for their giveaways which could go up to RM2000. All of these funds were gathered through their fundraiser events throughout the year. They also had dance workshops which were hosted by some of the best choreographers in the KL dance scene.
DZONE Festival is open to everybody and different dance groups can register themselves through TLDC. They would compete in front of an audience and judges who would gauge their performances, some of the judges involved in the competition are also well known within the Malaysian dance community. There are a wide genre of dances which include KPOP Choreography & Hip Hop; once the winners are decided by a specific criteria which focuses on their skills, outfits and movements, they would be given a cash prize with a large amount of money. The dance groups come from all across the country, some from KL and some from as far as Johor.
Ending the festival with a bang, they hosted a Halloween themed after-party on the 28th of October in The Grand Hall of Taylors University. All attendees were encouraged to come in an outfit of a character or a scary outfit as it’s a Halloween party after all. There were also a variety of performances which consisted of a music performance by Taylors Music Club, KPOP dances by TLDC themselves and other groups, some party games hosted by the MC and a final DJ Session by DJ Siren. Lots of well known dance clubs like The Hood, Valerinx and IMU Dance Club performed on stage. Besides just performances there are also carnival games and a photo booth. Kai, an enjoyer of the event said “The event is pretty good man, its well managed and it's worth it for the price and the events and the booths are awesome man” and as for his favorite part of the event he said “my favorite part of the event is performance by The Hood” “DJ Siren just popped off, and the hood are just amazing dancers and I attended some of their dance classes.''
