Kota Kinabalu: A 36-year-old e-hailing driver was jailed a total of 10 months on Wednesday on two counts of trespassing into a substation and having stolen cables.
Richzwan Shah Wan Sofian pleaded guilty before Magistrate Wan Farrah Farriza Wan Ghazali to having the stolen items comprising five units of earthing RMU Tamco, a unit of RMU iron plate, 13 units of earthing copper, five units of plate earthing feeder pillar and five units feeder at 3.15am on Sept 9 at the Taman Sinar Baru substation here.
Richzwan was jailed seven months from the date of his arrest.
The charge was under Section 411 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to five years or fine or both, on conviction.

The charge under 447 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to six months or fine or both, on conviction.
The prosecution informed the court that Richzwan was arrested by police and SESB staff who saw him trespassing into the substation by cutting the metal fence with a cutter and that a bag containing the stolen items was found with him.
Unrepresented, Richzwan requested leniency by saying that he has four children, including one of who is disabled, and that he has learnt his lesson while under remand.
The court ordered him to serve the sentences from the date of his arrest.
In another case, an unemployed man was charged with threatening a man.
Fillex Marginim, 42, was accused of committing the offence to Levired Misih by threatening to destroy his oil palm smallholding at 1.55pm on Aug 31 at Kg Pogunon, Penampang.
Fillex pleaded not guilty to the charge under Section 506 of the Penal Code.
The prosecution proposed bail at RM5,000.
The accused, who was unrepresented applied for a lower bail amount by saying that he only brought RM1,000 cash with him.
Magistrate Stephanie set Nov 1 for case management and released the accused on a bail of RM1,000 in one surety.
