The district urban unit of AAP today launched an “e-rickshaw-cum-mobile complaint box” campaign from Bhandari Bridge here today. On this occasion, Jaskaran Singh Bandesha, vice-chairman of the Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation and Lok Sabha constituency in-charge of the party, Prabhbir Singh Brar, Chairman of Punsup, and Dikshit Dhawan, Majha coordinator of the Nasha Mukti Morcha, flagged off e-rickshaws and inaugurated the awareness drive.
Bandesha said that under this campaign, e-rickshaws would visit every Assembly constituency, ward and locality of Amritsar city to create awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and mobilise citizens against drug abuse.
While stressing on public participation in the war against drugs, he said special complaint boxes had been installed on these e-rickshaws, enabling people to lodge complaints against drug traffickers anonymously. He said that strict legal action would be taken immediately against any drug trafficker identified through information received in the complaint boxes.
Prabhbir appealed to the people to extend maximum support to the Punjab Government’s war against drugs campaign, so that the menace of drugs could be eradicated from every locality, street and household.
Dikshit said that the “e-rickshaw-cum-mobile complaint box” campaign would initially cover the Assembly constituencies within Amritsar and subsequently be extended to the remaining Assembly segments of the district. He urged the people to join the anti-drug movement and contribute towards making Punjab drug-free and restoring its glory as a vibrant and prosperous state.
