Luis Suarez admits Barcelona's players spoke with Neymar about rejoining them this summer from PSG.
Barca pushed hard to bring back Neymar before Monday's transfer deadline, but it's since emerged PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi refused to consider selling for less than 300m.
And Suarez told AS: "We talked with Neymar when he wanted to leave and everyone knew it. He was told he would not be as good as in Barcelona. He had decided to leave (Bara), but he did everything to return.
"His relationship with us helped him a lot. In this conversation (on WhatsApp), we talked about everything. We knew he had gone through difficult times. This conversation, though, had become less detailed lately."
