
BEAUFORT: A furniture accessories shop here was damaged in a fire early on Monday morning, though no casualties were reported.
The District Fire and Rescue Station received the emergency call at 2.06am and arrived at the scene within three minutes, supported by Kuala Penyu firefighters.
Fire crews carried out offensive firefighting operations from the front of the shop, using water from a nearby hydrant and a water tanker, while also cutting through the rear grille to control the blaze.
The fire, which affected the ground floor of the shop measuring 20 by 40 feet, was brought under control at 4.16am and fully extinguished by 6.54am after thorough overhaul operations.
