IPOH, Sept 11 — Klinik Desa Sumpitan and staff quarters at Kampung Sumpitan near Lenggong were destroyed in a fire early this morning.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director (Operations) Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the department received an emergency call regarding the incident via the NG999 line at 4.04 am.

He said a team from the Lenggong Fire and Rescue Station BPP arrived at the scene at 4.14 am and found that the Class B building, which was being used as a clinic, as well as the staff quarters, were about 90 per cent engulfed in flames.

“A Proton Preve was also damaged in the fire, with the extent of damage estimated at five per cent. No casualties were reported,” he said in a statement today.

Sabarodzi said firefighters from the Batu Kurau BPP also took part in the firefighting operation, which concluded at 6.24 am today. — Bernama
