EASTWEST Bank continued to expand its presence in the Philippine capital market through its participation in major equity and debt fundraising transactions, including the P34.3-billion initial public offering (IPO) of Maynilad Water Services Inc. last year.
The bank served as a domestic participating underwriter for Maynilad's market debut, which was completed on Nov. 7, 2025. The transaction was the second-largest IPO in Philippine history and the country's biggest since 2021, with the offer oversubscribed 2.7 times.
EastWest said its participation helped broaden Maynilad's domestic and retail investor base while supporting the water concessionaire's long-term funding requirements for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
The bank also ranked among the top five corporate issue managers and arrangers in the bank category based on the Philippine Dealing System (PDS) Group's 2025 rankings, extending its streak in the list to six consecutive years.
Rafael S. Algarra Jr., senior executive vice president and head of financial markets and wealth management, said the bank remained focused on helping clients access the capital markets while connecting them with the right investors.
"At the heart of successful capital raising is a clear understanding of what our clients want to achieve," he said.
"By bringing together the right investors and helping build confidence throughout the process, we aim to deliver thoughtful advice and disciplined execution."
EastWest noted that more Philippine companies were turning to the capital markets to finance expansion and infrastructure projects, creating opportunities for investment banks to arrange equity and debt transactions.
The bank's investment banking team recently received the IPO Deal of the Year – Philippines award from Asian Banking & Finance for its role in the Maynilad offering, while the PDS Group recognized its performance in the domestic debt capital market based on its 2025 rankings.
"Every transaction represents a company's next chapter, whether it's expanding operations, investing in infrastructure, or pursuing long-term growth," Algarra said.
"Our role is to help our clients achieve those goals while creating more opportunities for retail investors to participate in the capital market and build their investment portfolios with confidence."
On Thursday, the bank’s shares slipped P0.02, or 0.17 percent, to close at P11.82 each.
