A Malaysian man recently took to social media to share his disappointment with a packed sandwich he bought at a petrol station in TTDI Jaya, Shah Alam, which caught the attention of netizens.
This is because the sandwich was packed misleadingly, as despite looking full of ingredients, its fillings are only minimal when opened up.
An RM5.30 sandwich with barely any fillings
Shared by Nazri Ahmad on Facebook, photos of the sandwich have been reshared by many public pages, including this viral post by Sukan Star TV.
In 1 photo, Nazri showed off the sandwich inside its packaging, which made it look like the sandwich was full of fillings.
Furthermore, the photo revealed that the ‘Golden Chicken with Crispy Cheese’ sandwich was priced at RM5.30 and made by a vendor which is ‘100% Bumiputera’.
The ingredients used were listed as chicken, black pepper, mayonnaise, cabbages and seasonings.
Meanwhile, the other photo shows the inside of the sandwich, with barely any fillings, all of which were pushed to the visible side of the sandwich from the outside.
In the caption, Nazri sarcastically wrote that maybe sandwiches such as this were the reason why people search for eateries without a Halal certificate and force vendors to get such certificates.
He added,
“Might as well market it as an empty sandwich. Or if you want to put ‘scam’ fillings such as this, just use smaller breads,”
Malaysians give their 2 cents on the misleading sandwich
In the comments, one netizen said that the boss of the petrol station can complain to the convenience store chain management about vendors who sell misleading products such as this.
Meanwhile, another commenter jokingly said that maybe the sandwich vendor was influenced by the infamous burgers sold in Malaysian stadiums which also have limited fillings despite the high price.
