  • EasyJet is set to introduce new Mirus Kestrel seats across 237 new aircraft from 2028, which will provide passengers with up to two inches of additional legroom.
  • The increased space is achieved through the seats' unique design and reduced thickness, which positions the occupant's hips and spine further back, despite the distance between seat rows remaining unchanged.
  • Made with carbon fibre, the new seats are over 20% lighter than current models, leading to a weight saving of up to 500kg per aircraft and an estimated annual fuel saving of over 12,936 tonnes fleet-wide.
  • The Kestrel seats feature a fixed recline of 22 degrees, meaning they cannot be manually adjusted by passengers.
  • EasyJet states this investment will enhance the onboard experience for customers while also improving operational efficiency and significantly reducing CO2 emissions.
