Fans of curry mee, this is your chance to prove your makan skills. Kuantan-famous curry mee spot, Kedai Kopi Xiong Wor is celebrating its 1st anniversary in Kuala Lumpur with a fiery eating competition happening this weekend in TTDI.
Finish the bowl in 5 minutes or less
The contest will take place on 16 and 17 May 2026 at Xiong Wor’s TTDI outlet, where contestants will race against the clock and each other to finish the massive “ALL-IN Curry Mee” in under five minutes.
Cash prizes up for grabs:
- 1st place: RM1,000
- 2nd place: RM500
- 3rd place: RM100
Even if participants don’t make it to the top three, they will still receive exclusive anniversary goodies like a custom Xiong Wor tote bag, a GUA Kaya bottled jar or RM50 voucher.
The legacy for this family began over 60 years ago, when a humble recipe was first introduced by Jayden Ong’s uncle and slowly refined over decades at a small one-stall kopitiam in Kuantan.
Today, the family’s curry mee legacy has grown in three directions with:
- His mother continues to run the original Kuantan outlet
- His younger sister developing a seafood-inspired version at MLT Cafe in Teluk Cempedak
- Xiong Wor in TTDI brings the same heritage curry mee to Kuala Lumpur, with a potential expansion to SS2 in the works.
