PETALING JAYA: Police have confirmed that the trial of celebrity preacher Ebit Lew on 11 charges of sexual harassment will take place late next month.
In a brief statement, federal police headquarters said the trial has been set for Sept 27-30 at the Tenom circuit court in the interior division of Sabah.
Lew had been charged in February and pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Police had investigated him following several reports alleging that the preacher had committed sexual harassment of a woman in Tenom between March and July last year.
The charges carry a penalty of up to five years’ jail or a fine, or both.
