I learned from the history of Malaysia that those who dare to imagine the impossible are the ones who break all human limitations. In every field of our human endeavour - whether economy, science, medicine, sports, the arts, culture, technology, or politics - the names of people who imagine the impossible are engraved in our history. By breaking the limits of their imagination, they changed the world.
It has become crucial for us to be clear about what we can rightly expect from our leaders, from the Kings & Sultans to Prime Ministers & Cabinet Ministers to members of Parliament & State Assemblies. In other words, there has to be ownership. We need a Parliament that passed resolutions to work on ‘Vision for the nation’, one which has the larger picture in mind and can rise above party politics.
I was delighted to witness the occasion when Tuan Haji Mohd Yahya Bin Haji Mat Sahri, Political Secretary Minister of Home Affairs accepted two pictorial review books and documentary video from Dato' Seri Abdul Mutalib Bin Mohamed Razak in Putrajaya. The two books titled ‘The Malayan Emergency Revisited 1948-1960' & ‘Expressions of Medeka Malaysia 31 August 1957-16 September 1963’. The video series produced by TV3 & Grand Brilliance (GB) entitled ‘JUNGLE GREEN KHAKI BROWN: Malaya’s Fight Against Terrorism' that depicts how our nation faced an era of terror for 12 years, and the strategies adopted which had culminated in victory.
We hope every aspiring MP, State Assemblyman or anyone with political ambitions, specially the youth, will benefit from the books & documentary video series, as the issues of sejahtera leadership, people's aspirations, development & evolving a focused, clear vision become more & more important, right from the grassroots level to the higher echelons of political, business & educational leadership.
We strongly believe igniting the minds of the youth to dedicate themselves to the nation and contribute their best to bring a change in thinking will make Malaysia a highly developed country. The two books at least sows the seed of confidence in every youth towards the need of political stability, mutual respect and balanced co-existence for our nation's economic development and business growth.
