KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Ir. Abdul Nasser Abdul Wahid, CEO of the Energy Commission of Sabah (ECoS), has lodged a police report against news portal Sabahkini2 over a defamatory article published on April 17.

The article alleged that he approved the Libaran IPP project linked to former Prime MinisterTan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s in-law without Cabinet approval, a claim Abdul Nasser strongly denies.

He stated that all decisions were made according to legal procedures and Cabinet mandates. The article, he said, aimed to tarnish his reputation and damage ECoS’s credibility.

He is seeking legal action under criminal defamation laws and may pursue civil action.
