KOTA KINABALU: The Energy Commission of Sabah (ECoS) has refuted claims by Warisan Kota Kinabalu Information Chief Samuel Wong about alleged hidden electricity tariff hikes, affirming that rates have remained unchanged since 2014.

ECoS clarified that the current tiered structure, with charges of 47 sen/kWh for usage above 1,000 units (or bills exceeding RM383), has been in place since January 1, 2014.

Consumers with abnormal bills are urged to report them via ECoS or its platform, Talk2ECoS. The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, consumer protection, and ensuring fair and reliable electricity supply in Sabah.
