PETROGREEN Energy Corp. said Tuesday that unit EcoSolar Energy Corp. had secured an environmental compliance certificate (ECC) from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources for its 98.20-megawatt-direct current (MWdc) Panitan Solar Power Project.
“We are pleased to receive the ECC for our Panitan Solar Power Project after an extensive process that began in November 2025,” PetroGreen Energy Assistant Vice Yrel Ventura said.
“Capiz government leaders, Panitan municipal officials and local stakeholders endorsed the project citing its significance and potential impacts as the province first utility-scale solar power facility,” he added.
The ground-mounted solar development will be PGEC’s largest solar power facility.
Subject to pre-development activities, construction and upgrade of the 138-kilovolt Panitan substation by the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines, the project is targeted for completion before the end of 2028.
The company said the facility is expected to deliver socioeconomic benefits to Capiz, including job creation, local procurement opportunities and support for community development initiatives.
PetroEnergy’s share price rose by 14 centavos to close at P3.76 each.
