EDOTCO Malaysia has officially teamed up with HUAWEI Malaysia to work out the Next Generation Network Operations Partnership to modernise how telecom infrastructure is managed by leaning heavily into automation, AI, and smarter operational systems.
Both sides aim to bring different strengths to the table, with EDOTCO offering strong operational standards and infrastructure expertise, while HUAWEI comes in with digital operations and maintenance capabilities.
This results in a shift towards higher intelligence and data-driven network management that includes things like a unified operations and maintenance platform, AI-assisted scheduling, geolocation-based task assignments, and more precise execution for fieldwork.
From a user perspective, this isn’t just backend improvements for the sake of it. The expectation here is fewer service disruptions, more reliable connectivity, and an overall smoother experience, especially as more people and businesses rely heavily on digital services every day.
EDOTCO Group CEO Adlan Tajudin expressed his commitment to making this part of a bigger push to strengthen operational capabilities in line with Malaysia’s digital ambitions, emphasizing that reliable infrastructure is becoming increasingly critical as connectivity continues to underpin everything from businesses to community services, while also aligning with the country’s AI Nation 2030 goals.
On HUAWEI’s side, Deputy CEO Zac Chow highlighted that this partnership is really about enabling a transition toward AI-driven network operations. That means stronger visibility into network performance, faster fault detection and recovery, better coordination during incidents, and higher asset uptime. At the same time, they are bringing in its global experience to support features like intelligent inspection, smart dispatching, and full-scale asset digitalisation, all of which point toward a future of predictive and preventive maintenance rather than reactive fixes.
