Th Egyptian FA have confirmed Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has suffered a hamstring injury.

Salah was forced off during Egypt's 2-2 draw with Ghana in Thursday's AFCON group game.

It's now been confirmed he did suffer a hamstring pull and will miss their next group game against Cape Verde and the round of 16 should they qualify.

"Tests on Mohamed Salah, the captain of the Egypt national team, proved that he suffered a hamstring injury and will miss the next two matches of the team at the AFCON," the Egyptian Football Association said.

Egypt must defeat Cape Verde to reach the knockout round.
