
PAPAR: Five men were seriously injured while three others sustained minor injuries in a three-vehicle collision along Jalan Andus here on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred when a Perodua Bezza was believed to have made a U-turn before colliding with an Isuzu D-Max and a motorcycle.
The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department operations centre said they were alerted to the incident via a Mers999 call at 7.24am, following which a team of 10 personnel from the Papar fire station was dispatched to the scene some 15 kilometres away.
All eight male victims, aged between 15 and 50, were extricated by firefighters and transported to hospital by Fire Department EMRS, Civil Defence Force (APM), and Health Ministry (MoH) ambulances for further treatment.
The operation, which also involved personnel from the police, APM, and KKM, was officially concluded at 8.13am after the area was deemed safe from further hazards.
