
TAWAU: A search is on for eight people believed to have gone missing while fishing in waters off here.
The eight were said to have departed for their fishing trip in waters close to Kg Inderasabah on Sunday (July 23) but did not return home.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director of Operations, Hamsa Isnurdini, said a missing people’s report was received around 1.15pm on Monday.
“It is suspected that the boat had sunk and the eight have gone missing due to this incident,” he said in a statement.
