KUDAT: Eight secondary school students were injured when the Toyota Hiace van they were travelling in was involved in an accident with a car at Km 21, Kampung Korina, Sikuati, on Monday.

Kudat District Police Chief Supt Mohd Haris Ibrahim said the students, who received treatment at the Kudat Hospital, were reported to be in a stable condition.

He said initial investigations showed the Iswara carrying two local men lost control and entered the opposite lane before colliding with the van carrying eight students and two civilians at 6.39pm.

“All of them suffered injuries and were rushed to the Kudat Hospital,” he said, adding the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
