The Cyberjaya Street Mall features a dedicated “state-themed foodie” concept. It is a kind of one stop center for all Malaysian state food specialties for, example, Johor: Notable for the regional morning and lunch staples, such as an authentic Lontong Datar and rich Laksa Johor. Negeri Sembilan serves up rich, smoked Minangkabau heritage dishes, most notably Rendang Minang and Itek or Ikan Salai masak lemak. Selangor with Java heritage focuses on the popular communal and layered dishes common to the region, such as Lontong and Nasi Ambeng. Perak's signature food specialties offer with a distinct combination of rich royal heritage flavor & unique local herbs of Rendang Tok, Gulai Tempoyak Ikan Patin, Nasi Lemuni, primarily found in Kuala Kangsar.
Kedah: known for northern-style rich dishes. Diners can sample localized comfort meals like Nasi Daging Merah (beef in red sauce)that paired with Ayam Bawang (union chicken). Terengganu features the east-coast breakfast and lunch favorites, including aromatic Nasi Dagang. Sarawak offers the authentic Borneo flavors, primarily featuring the complex, spiced broth of famous traditional Mee Kolok, Laksa Sarawak.(www.instagram.com>streetmallcyberjaya< / getoccupi.com/malls/ the-street-mall)

In conjunction with the recent school holidays, my wife & I accompanied our eldest daughter, Jann & husband Faiz & their four children, for walkabouts at Cyberjaya Street Mall. Coincidently, the stall owner of Daging Merah Looqstaq is a childhood friend of Faiz in Alor Setar, so we decided to taste the menu of iconic savory recipe specialties from Kedah for our lunch. We enjoyed the punchy northern flavor cuisine that balances mild chili with caramelized onion.

I remember originally built as one of Cyberjaya's first retail developments, the Street Malls holds a nostalgic significance of the city's pioneering residents. It serves as an international gathering place for flea markets & festive events, notably transforming into a vibrant hub for tourists during Ramadan month.
