
Kota Kinabalu: Mohamad Eizlan Dahalan and Nur Aishah Rofina Aling were crowned Universiti Malaysia Sabah’s (UMS) Sportsman and Sportswoman at the 24th Student and Alumni Affairs (Mahepa) Awards Ceremony officiated by Higher Education Minister Dato Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin on Sunday.
Both track and field athletes achieved outstanding results at the international stage in 2022.
Eizlan won the gold medal in the high jump event at the 20th Asean University Games held in Thailand last year in addition to another gold in the Higher Institutions Games (Sukipt) as well as a silver in the last Sukma Games and a bronze at the Vietnam SEA Games.
Nur Aishah on the other hand, managed to win one gold medal in the 4 x 100-metre relay and a silver in the 200 metres at the 20th Asean University Games.

All four winners apart from a trophy and certificate also received a cash prize of RM300 each from UMS Vice Chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Kasim Mansor.
Meanwhile, Farrel and Nur Aishah were also awarded an incentive of RM2,500 each for winning bronze medals for the country at the Cambodia SEA Games this year.
Farrel won the bronze in the high jump event while Aishah was in the 4 x 100m relay team that finished in third place.
