A WELL-KNOWN elderly couple from Desa Lang Indah, Ipoh, were found dead in their home earlier this morning, sparking a police investigation into the cause of death.
The pair, whose identities have not been released publicly, were discovered after neighbours noticed an unusual silence from the couple, who were typically active and well-regarded in the neighbourhood.
Security guard Rajendren Manikam, 65, who had a close rapport with the couple, said he normally received regular messages from them via WhatsApp.
“Usually, they would WhatsApp me, but the last message I received was last Friday around 8.15 in the morning,” he said when met at the scene.
“After that, nothing at all. I only found out what had happened when police came by asking about their home,” he added.
Rajendren described the couple as kind-hearted and friendly, known for exchanging food and greetings with neighbours. They were often seen walking together in the residential area.
Police who arrived at the house found both individuals deceased inside the property. Their bodies were subsequently sent to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) for post-mortem examination.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the cause of death, as investigations remain ongoing. - October 2, 2025
