KOTA KINABALU: A 65-year-old local man died after the Proton Gen-2 he was driving crashed into a roadside drain and stopped near a lamp post at Jalan Sepanggar, close to the Marine Department, around 5.30pm on Tuesday.
Police said initial checks suggested the car lost control before veering off the road, and the victim was rushed to Hospital Likas but was pronounced dead at 6.14pm.
Investigations confirmed no other vehicles were involved, and the case is being probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
