An elderly man suffered severe burns after he attempted to set himself on fire in Hala Tasek Timur 42, Anjung Bercham Utara, Perak, this morning.
The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call about the incident at 8:27 AM, where a team of nine firefighters from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene.
According to Operation Commander Mahmud Azaddin Mohd Najamuddin, the 61-year-old victim sustained burns covering 70% his body and was promptly transferred to medical professionals for urgent treatment.
