Elderly man slashed in Klang eatery knife attack

A 69-year-old man was injured after a dispute at a Klang eatery escalated into a knife attack, with one suspect arrested and two others being hunted by police.

SHAH ALAM: An elderly man sustained injuries to his face and body after being attacked with a knife during a dispute at an eatery in Kapar, Klang.

North Klang District Police chief ACP S. Vijaya Rao said the incident occurred at approximately 6.09am when the victim, 69, and a friend were approached by a group of men.

The altercation reportedly began after the complainant ignored remarks from the group, prompting one suspect to pull out a knife and slash the victim.

Before leaving the scene, the group also issued a criminal threat to shoot the complainant in the near future.

The victim is currently in stable condition and receiving treatment at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.

Police have since arrested one suspect, who was found to have eight prior criminal records and three drug-related records.

The arrested individual has been remanded for three days to assist with the investigation.

Authorities are actively tracking down the two remaining suspects involved in the attack.
