A 73-YEAR-OLD woman was found drowned after reportedly falling into the sea near a popular recreational spot at Stulang Laut on Saturday night.
According to Johor Bahru South District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat, the body of the local woman was discovered at 9.10pm following a distress call from a 36-year-old passer-by who witnessed the incident and immediately alerted the police.
"Upon receiving the report, officers from Taman Pelangi Police Station and the Larkin Fire and Rescue Department were dispatched to the scene," Raub said in a statement issued on Sunday.
Fire and rescue personnel recovered the body at approximately 9.30pm. The woman was found fully clothed, and preliminary investigations revealed no signs of foul play.
“The body has been sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) for further examination. Her next-of-kin have been informed, and the case has been classified as a sudden death (SDR),” Raub added. - September 21, 2025
