The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls with the draft publication of the rolls now set to take place on August 3, 2026, instead of July 31. The period for filing claims and objections has been revised from August 3 to September 2, while the notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will be undertaken from August 3 to September 28.

All remaining activities under the SIR programme shall continue in Mohali as per the schedule already communicated by ECI. The process of filling Enumeration Forms will be carried out from June 25 to July 24, followed by the subsequent stages of the revision exercise as per the prescribed timeline.

All Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Booth-Level Officers have been directed to ensure wide publicity of the revised schedule.
