However, at the same time, a group of motorcycles came from the opposite direction, and one of the riders collided with the man.

As a result, the man fell, and his scooter was thrown forward. It is not stated whether the man sustained any injuries following the incident.

Netizens were divided

In the comments section of the video, netizens were divided on whose fault it was with some siding with the motorcyclist.

“No matter how you argue, the scooter is still at fault because it’s not allowed on the road.”

One user said, “The scooter was wrong, but the motorcyclist could’ve slowed down when he saw someone crossing.”

“Both parties made mistakes, but if an accident can be avoided, it should be,” said another.

For the record, the use of electric scooters on public roads has been prohibited since January 1, 2021.

Electric scooter riders found operating on public roads may be fined RM300 for the first offense, up to RM1,000 for subsequent offenses, or face up to three months in jail under the Road Transport Act (RTA) 1987.
