
SANDAKAN: State Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe visited Maxland Auto Sdn Bhd at Palm Oil Industrial Cluster (POIC) where the establishment of the State’s first electric vehicle (EV) assembly plant is due.
Having recently secured its Federal Manufacturing Licence (FML) from MIDA last year, the company is now poised to spearhead Sabah’s green industrialisation.

“My Ministry, along with other relevant agencies, is fully committed to facilitating and supporting initiatives like Maxland Auto, as well as other investment, to ensure they receive the necessary support to thrive in Sabah,” he said on a statement after the visit, Saturday.

Maxland Auto has outlined an investment plan of RM100 million by 2028, with projections to create up to 500 job opportunities during its third phase of development, which will include a manufacturing plant.
