- George denied murder, claiming he had lost self-control, but the judge dismissed this defence due to overwhelming evidence of his aggressive and bullying behaviour towards Ms Rook.
- A jury convicted George of murder after deliberating for two-and-a-half hours, and he is scheduled to be sentenced on 9 June.
