SANDAKAN: The Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities will implement an online Electronic Fresh Fruit Bunches (EFFB) system this year.

Its Deputy Minister, Datuk Seri Wee Jeck Seng, said, currently, the EFFB pilot project is underway in Tanjung Piai, Johor, and would be expanded to the whole country after seeing the effectiveness of the system.

“We cannot rush to implement this EFFB because it involves various related parties. Therefore, we will implement this EFFB which is expected to be this year also after evaluating its pilot project,” he told a press conference after officiating the Sungai Sibuga Sandakan Berhad Sustainable Oil Palm Growers Cooperative Weighing Centre (KPSM) at Jalan Dandulit, Batu 12, here, Tuesday.
