Kota Kinabalu: The State Government is actively pursuing major tourism initiatives this year, among them is the development of an Elephant Corridor in Kinabatangan and a strong emphasis on community-based tourism products.
The Elephant Corridor project aims to create a designated area with planted food sources to better manage the elephant population and prevent human-wildlife conflicts.
State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew said negotiations are underway with a Japanese wildlife investor interested in funding the project to preserve wildlife and nature.
