Ellen DeGeneres has broken her silence on being “kicked out of show business”.
The 66-year-old comedian was forced to end the Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2022 after a Buzzfeed News investigation accused it of fostering a toxic work environment.
“Oh yeah, I got kicked out of show business... I became this one-dimensional character who gave stuff away and danced up steps,” she told a sold-out crowd at her show Ellen’s Last Stand…Up Tour in Los Angeles this week.
“I’m making jokes about what happened to me, but it was devastating.”
DeGeneres also quipped that there are “no mean people in show business”.
