Representatives of Elliott Investment Group were at Old Trafford last night.
Manchester United defeated Real Betis 4-1 in the first-leg of their round of 16 tie on Thursday.
Elliott were owners of AC Milan and whilst they are not looking to buy a stake in Manchester United, they are offering funding, either through a potential part purchase or to assist with redevelopment work around the stadium and the club's Carrington training complex.
United are at the start of a period of presentations, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS group and Sheikh Jassim's representatives to be at Old Trafford next week as the ownership situation moves on.
