Kota Kinabalu: A man believed to be suffering from emotional distress is found safe after he was reported missing since Monday.

Luise Endriuqe Seminding, 26, who was reported missing after leaving his house in Gansurai here was found by a search and rescue team and villagers at about 10.13am on Tuesday.

He was found some 2.5 kilometres from the incident control post.

Kota Belud District Fire and Rescue Station Chief Elge Bakuk said 12 personnel including their Drone Unit were involved in the search and rescue operation.

“The man was found safe without any serious injuries on the second day of the operation and was handed over to the police before being taken to the Kota Belud Hospital for further treatment,” he said.

He said they initially received a distress call from the Kota Belud District Police Headquarters regarding the missing person at 8.45pm on Monday.

“Based on initial information, the victim reportedly left his home around 6am and was believed to have gone missing near a plantation area.

“It is also alleged that the victim has been experiencing emotional distress since returning from Korea in 2018,” he said.

He said police, those from the Civil Defence Force and villagers also took part in the operation which ended at 10.25am.
