Bandar Tun Razak Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, has recently allocated more than RM200,000 to support mosques and suraus in the constituency for various Ramadan activities. The donation, presented by Dr Wan Azizah, who also serves as the Prime Minister’s wife, aims to facilitate a range of initiatives throughout the holy month.
Nine mosques and 80 suraus in the area have benefited from this contribution, with each mosque receiving RM5,000 and each surau RM2,000, totaling over RM200,000 in aid. Dr Wan Azizah emphasized that this financial support is integral to ensuring the success of Ramadan programs and hopes it will help cover additional expenses associated with organizing various activities.
In addition to the financial assistance, Dr Wan Azizah highlighted the broader impact of these contributions, emphasizing how they foster unity, cooperation, and a sense of community among residents within the Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary constituency. Speaking at a ceremony marking the donation presentation for mosques and suraus, Dr Wan Azizah emphasized the importance of strengthening the bonds between religious institutions and the local community.
Moreover, as part of the initiative to support Ramadan activities, Dr Wan Azizah's office has also distributed RM10 coupons for residents to use at selected Ramadan bazaars in the area. These coupons aim to alleviate the financial burden on residents and encourage participation in Ramadan festivities. The distribution covers six designated Ramadan bazaar areas within Bandar Tun Razak, providing 100 coupons weekly.
Acknowledging the support from MKRS and New Tech, Dr Wan Azizah expressed gratitude for their contributions to initiatives such as the "one day one cooking" program and the distribution of bubur lambuk. These efforts, she noted, play a crucial role in supporting the mosques, suraus, and selected associations within the Bandar Tun Razak Parliamentary Constituency.
