Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, President of Gagasan Rakyat Sabah and also Chief Minister and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman, emphasized the crucial role of his party's machinery in the upcoming Sabah state election, which is less than two years away. He stressed the importance of actively communicating the government’s efforts and accomplishments over the past three years to the electorate.

Hajiji underlined the responsibility of the party's machinery as frontline workers in the electoral process. He urged unity among the team members and called for concerted efforts to articulate the struggles and progress achieved by the GRS government, particularly at the grassroots level.

During a recent informal meeting with facilitators participating in the Gagasan Rakyat Leadership Empowerment course (ToT), Hajiji reiterated the need for effective communication with the people regarding the government's development initiatives.

While speculation arose regarding the possibility of snap elections in Sabah, Hajiji clarified last month that the state government's term extends until September 2025.

Regarding the state government's development agenda, Hajiji highlighted the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) plan, affirming its positive trajectory. He emphasized the implementation of investor-friendly policies under the SMJ agenda, aimed at attracting more investments to create job opportunities for the youth.

The Chief Minister mentioned the state government's efforts to organize international conferences and entice both local and foreign investors to explore opportunities in Sabah. These initiatives are geared towards bolstering the economy, fostering employment, and alleviating poverty in the state.

In summary, Hajiji stressed the significance of effective communication and collaboration within the party's machinery to convey the government's achievements and development plans to the electorate ahead of the upcoming state election. He reaffirmed the commitment of the GRS government to pursue policies conducive to progress and prosperity for the people of Sabah.

Looking ahead, it is imperative for Gagasan Rakyat Sabah to strengthen its outreach efforts, engaging with communities across the state to ensure that the electorate is well-informed about the government's initiatives and their impact on their daily lives. By fostering a transparent and inclusive dialogue, the GRS can build trust and confidence among voters, laying the groundwork for a successful electoral campaign in the coming years.
