
Rajya Sabha MP Anurag Sharma on Saturday emphasised the importance of collective social responsibility in empowering specially-abled children while attending the annual prize distribution function of Harmony Day Care Centre at Upper Barol near Dharamsala.
Sharma interacted with children, their parents and teachers, and lauded their efforts and achievements. He said specially-abled children were a source of inspiration for society. “Every section of society has a responsibility to support such children and provide them with better opportunities to grow and succeed,” Sharma said. He praised the Harmony Day Care Centre for its dedicated work towards the welfare, education and overall development of specially-abled children.
The MP announced financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh from his MPLAD fund for the institution. He also assured the management that he would take up the centre’s demand for the construction of a dedicated building with the CM.
The event witnessed cultural performances by the children, who showcased their talent and confidence through music, dance and other presentations. Sharma announced an additional incentive of Rs 21,000 to encourage the children for their performance.
