- The fourth season of popular Apple TV series Ted Lasso - starring Jason Sudeikis, Juno Temple, Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein - came to an end on Tuesday night.
- The multi-Emmy-winning series, which became cult watching during the 2020 pandemic, ended after three seasons in 2023.
- Earlier this year, it was announced the show would make a surprise return for a fourth, and final, series with Lasso (Sudeikis) returning to take charge of the newly established AFC Richmond’s women’s team.
- Critics have responded to the finale, with the Independent’s Kevin E G Perry said: “If the show’s comeback felt like a risk, it’s one that’s been justified by a largely endearing, funny and welcome run of new episodes.”
- The Sunday Guardian wrote: “Ted Lasso Season 4 didn’t always justify its return. There were stretches when the revival felt like it was searching for a reason to exist. But [the finale] finally finds that reason. The finale is sentimental. Sometimes overly so.”
