The festive celebration of the Chinese New Year is coming fast and the sights of the colour red, mandarin oranges, ang pow, and of course, the lion dance can be seen near every mall in Malaysia.
However, during a Lion Dance competition held in Penang, one particular sight drew the attention of a TikTok user @ahpeng2830 as he watches the performance of the lion dance where the head of the lion is a Malay hijabi girl.
The lion dance performance was highly energetic, without any flaws. Malaysian netizens were impressed as the dance was not easy and they manage to pull it off.
"The dance looks like how a playful baby lion would act. So cute. Congratulations to the dance team. Teamwork, it's not easy to pull off," says a netizen.
TikTok's user @ahpeng2830 also shares a video regarding the dance troupe, as it was performed by a family dance troupe.
Malaysian netizens not only applaud their efforts to learn a highly complicated dancing skill but also bring the spirit of unity that is just uniquely Malaysian.
With the caption of this is 1 Malaysia, some are touched by the performance, especially during these times.

The video not only garners Malaysians' attention but also several international YouTubers especially react channels from Indonesia.
The lion dance is a traditional Chinese dance that consists of two dancers, where one act as the head, while the other play as the hind. The dance is usually accompanied by the sounds of gongs and drums to bring more luck.
Traditionally, the lion dance was performed to depict the chasing away of the evil spirit called Nian, who only goes out on the last day of the year to eat the people and life stocks.
