England Under 21 boss Lee Carsley is under consideration by the Republic of Ireland.
The Daily Mail says Carsley is being discussed by the FAI as they consider the future of Stephen Kenny.
The former Everton midfielder will hold talks with the FA over his future after this summer's U21 European Championship.
Carsley is also interesting several Football League clubs.
