Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is set for a first England U21 call.
The FA are making their move amid interest from Ghana.
The Daily Mail says they want Mainoo to play in the U21 Euro qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Luxembourg.
England U21 coach Lee Carsley has been scouting Mainoo this season.
Mainoo has been capped by England at U17, U18 and U19 level.
