SANDAKAN: Elopura Assemblyman Calvin Chong hoped the Government would look into the merit and calibre of candidates when appointing a new President of the Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS).
He said this is to ensure the appointment of a high-calibre individual who is attentive to the people’s woes while being an efficient middleman between the Government and the people.
“The ability of a president to solve problems faced by the people is very important,” he said after meeting with MPS Deputy President II Harun Ariffin at his office, here, recently.
